West Buckland School review
Founded in 1858, West Buckland School is a member of the HMC headmasters' conference, demonstrating its confidence in policy-making. Situated in the tranquil and safe countryside of Devon in the southwest, the school enjoys a spacious campus with ample outdoor learning opportunities. Another notable aspect is that the number of Hong Kong students is only around 30, and international students account for about 18% of the school, striking a balance in the intake of students from different nationalities. The school places great emphasis on shaping students with 'The Seven Cs': Confidence, Critical Thinking, Creativity, Courage, Commitment, Caring, and Curiosity. Through various on-campus and off-campus activities, students are developed into confident young adults equipped with positive qualities such as social responsibility, leadership, perseverance, and empathy, which are not only beneficial for their future learning but also essential soft skills for work and interpersonal relationships.

ISI Report Highly Praises Student Quality
During the ISI inspection, observers noticed that students at all levels demonstrated remarkable enthusiasm and positivity in different learning stages and subject areas. In the parent questionnaire, parents praised the teachers for their patience and academic demands on students, reflecting the teachers' quality in their students' learning progress and confidence in class. Individual extracurricular activity clubs, such as computer coding, boxing, debate, and drama, are student-led and organised, allowing students to exemplify 'The Seven Cs' advocated by the school and gain valuable experiences in event preparation, communication, and cooperation.
Named "Boarding School of the Year."
In 2019, West Buckland School was selected as the "Boarding School of the Year" by "Independent School Magazine" for its dormitory management team, which created a warm and welcoming home environment for students. Boarding students at the school usually come from approximately 18 different countries, including the UK. The school regularly organises outdoor activities, encouraging boarders and day students to participate together and foster friendship. Upon entering the dormitory building, one can clearly see written on the walls the rules: "Hug often, Say sorry, Work hard, Know you are loved, Give a second chance, Show empathy, Live happily, Respect others, Help others, Chase dreams, Never give up, and mind your manners." Under the influence of these positive values, students will inevitably grow and become the best version of themselves.
