MSA is a joint venture between Manchester Metropolitan University and a member of the Russell Group, the University of Manchester. Students not only benefit from the resources and facilities of both universities but also receive a certificate jointly awarded by the two institutions. The school offers five architecture programmes spanning bachelor's, master's, and doctoral levels, all accredited by the RIBA and ARB.
MSA holds a prestigious reputation in both the industry and academia as a highly regarded architecture school. It ranks 11th globally in architecture subject rankings, and its graduates are well-respected in the field. MSA has nurtured several world-renowned architects, including Norman Foster (known for projects like the HSBC Building in Hong Kong) and former Chief Architect of the Hong Kong MTR, Roland Paoletti. Paoletti's team designed 37 stations across Hong Kong's MTR, including those on the Tsuen Wan and Kwun Tong Lines, contributing to the development of the city's subway system.
